When you remove a tenant from a unit, they will cease to receive further invoices. It's essential to remove tenants who are no longer residing in the unit.
To remove a tenant, follow these steps:
- Click on "Properties" on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Choose the specific property.
- Access the unit in question.
- Select the three dots located on the right side.
- Click on "Remove Current Tenant."
- Confirm by clicking "End Payment Terms."
- You can specify the lease end date, which will effectively remove them from the unit and halt all future invoices. Please note that this action does not affect any unpaid past invoices.
You will receive a prompt to verify the lease end date. If you've collected a security deposit, you can indicate the collected amount and the corresponding date.
Below that, you can also specify the date when the deposit was returned, the method of return, and any relevant notes explaining why the full amount wasn't refunded.
Please note that while this information will be recorded for your reference, you are still responsible for actually refunding the money to the tenant. We are actively developing a feature to automate this process in a future update.
Finally, you will confirm the details to conclude the current payment terms for your tenant.
If you have the option to "remove tenant" or "end payment terms" you can use "remove tenant" to delete/undo the payment terms you just set up, this will remove all records.
